Breakfast onboard a Viking ship

Life onboard is not easy, it is cold, harsh and hard work. The cook, Janne, has the important job to feed the crew. It takes a lot of energy to sail a Viking ship across icy waters and the crew eats a lot of food. The galley is open and only covered with canvas to protect the cook and the food from the worst seas and weather.

Have a look on the clip about to the cook, Jan Gullbrandsson when he talks about his experiences onboard and how he ended up on Draken!

The Vikings were accomplished navigators, artisans, traders and story tellers, but their greatest triumph was the ship they built.
